The full title of this course is The Human Advantage - Creativity, curriculum and assessment in an age of generative AI (Part 1) This is the first of a 2 part course responding to the growing anxiety among educators that generative AI tools may replace creative thinking, originality, student effort and even the job of a teacher. Rather than positioning AI as a threat, the course re-frames creativity as the essential human capability that gives learning meaning, relevance, and integrity in an AI-rich world. By the end of the course, participants will be able to: - Explain why creativity is more important than ever in an AI-enabled world - Distinguish between AI-generated output and human creative thinking - Design learning tasks that prioritise process, originality, and student voice - Redesign assessment to value thinking, iteration, and reflection This course also examines how AI cannot replace the role of a teacher, because teaching is, at its core, a profoundly human profession.
